With over 15 years of experience in the fitness industry, I'm an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and ATA Certified Adaptive and Inclusive Trainer specializing in creating programs for the older adult and individuals with permanent disabilities. As a certified Delay the Disease Instructor and Pedaling for Parkinson's Coach, I also offer unique training programs to help manage symptoms, improve mobility, and increase overall health and wellness for people living with Parkinson's disease. Youth & Adult Bicycle Programs
Ride to the top of your wellness game! Bicycling is not only a great form of exercise, but it's also an eco-friendly mode of transportation. As a League of American Bicyclist's Certified Instructor, I offer personalized one-on-one or group lessons for both children and adults, interactive bicycle rodeos for kids, and group on-bike & classroom sessions. Whether you're looking to reduce your environmental impact, reconnect with your kids or grandkids in the outdoors, or just want to stay active, bicycling is the perfect solution! Instruction available for all ages and abilities.
Adaptive Bicycling Pilot Program
I am grateful to have the opportunity to create an adaptive biking pilot program in partnership with Catalyst Sports. Adaptive bicycling is a sport that allows people with a variety of physical, intellectual, neurological, and sensory abilities to ride bikes. As a certified adaptive exercise specialist and League Certified Instructor, I'm able to combine my passions to help others build a strong and confident body and transfer their efforts to movement in the outdoors.
Why Tall Bird?
As a congenital heart disease survivor, I have spent a lifetime "overcoming" and thriving in conditions I was told I would never be able to consider. At age 5, open heart surgery saved my life but left me lost as I no longer "fit in" with the same children I previously played in the outdoors with all day long. Limitations were placed on me that took my freedom to resume the energetic and boisterous activities I loved so much. I couldn't physically keep up with my peers anymore and I yearned to be back on my bicycle. Before long, I began to sneak out on two wheels. I quickly realized that on my bike, I could still keep up with the other kids. Since I was little, I have had a love for all birds and felt "free as a bird" when I rode my bicycle. As I grew older, I saw myself as one of the large, tall, flightless birds that didn't have the wings to fly, but could roam fast and free over the land...with the help of my bicycle. The bicycle became a tool for me to regain my strength, confidence, and to challenge my body. As an adult, riding a bicycle has allowed me to continue to pedal towards my best self while connecting to my community and the environment. I have been privileged enough to see and know what exercise can do for one's physical and mental health.
